Source quality and freshness
Every important fact should have a current source or a clear provider attribution. Fixture feeds can change after publication, and team or player availability is especially time-sensitive.
A trustworthy system keeps collection time separate from event time and exposes degraded coverage. Cached information can improve speed, but readers should know when it was last refreshed.
Missing data is itself a signal
When line-ups, recent comparable form or injury context are missing, the model should reduce confidence. Replacing an unknown value with an invented average can hide the most important limitation in the analysis.
