Read status before score
Check whether an event is scheduled, live, at a break, finished, postponed or interrupted. Provider wording differs between sports, so the time stamp and last refresh matter.
A stale score can look live even when the source has stopped updating. EKBE displays feed state and source attribution so readers can distinguish a current value from a delayed one.
Different sports need different context
A one-goal football lead, a six-point basketball lead and a one-set tennis lead have different meanings. Clock, possession, serving order, foul trouble and rotation are examples of context that a single score line may hide.
Avoid converting a score into certainty. Late events, overtime and retirements can materially change the final outcome.
Use live data as information
Live pages are best used to follow events and verify status. They should not be presented as a guaranteed trigger for financial action.
When a feed is partial or unavailable, a transparent platform should say so instead of inventing a value.
